Habitable Zones
« on: November 11, 2015, 01:47:20 PM »
Is it worth it to codify the habitable zone? Right now it is basically (though unstated) to be orbits 3-5. I am thinking of adding (based on stellar type) a Green Zone. Red Zone is inside the Green Zone and Blue is outside.
Type O, B, A have no Green Zone.
For the other star types, the Green Zone is at the following distances:
Type F = 1.0 - 2.0 AU.
Type G = 0.75 - 1.37 AU.
Type K = 0.5 - 1.0 AU.
Type M = 0.25 - 0.75 AU.

Does this needlessly complicate things?

I don't think so,  adds a nice bit of variation, and it's a one off thing for each system so not a huge admin overhead
The boggosity of the universe tends towards maximum.
