some issues but are they bugs?
« on: December 25, 2015, 01:32:49 AM »
1) trying to delete the colonial war game when setting up 7.0 can cause the game to crash.  you also do not fully
delete it as there is still the empire screen but you cannot access any subscreens.  This also crashes the game when
you try and acess the colonial war after trying to delete it and it still being openable.
2) clocking speeds in different games can be wildly different now.   Some games go normally but others after playing
for about 20 hours slow to deadly slow speeds making them unplayable or just stop totally and the game becomes unresponsive
and you have to restart over and over.
3) scientists are now much more variable with a good chance you won't get a specialist for some branches for over 30
years game-time.

1) is a bug that's been noticed, steve has also put another sample game database in the release thread that can be successfully deleted , to use it just drag that stevefire.db into your game folder, overwriting the old one.
2) that's how aurora works, as the game drags on and more NPRs exist or your own empire expands calculation speeds slow down, having less NPRs always helps, or changing sensor update type,if you're using 7.0 (also listed as 6.5 on the initial game window) try changing to no updates in systems player has no presence in for a significant speed improvement. It will mean that NPRs will always be neutral to everyone untill you stumble into their systems.
3) scientists have always been random, you can use space master to add more officers untill you get some decent researchers, I usually do.

". . .  We know nothing about them, their language, their history or what they look like.  But we can assume this.  They stand for everything we don't stand for.  Also they told me you guys look like dorks. "

2. Honestly once it hists a cratain point of slowness, ill leave the game running and go do something else. Had 1 game that before I restarted i was up to a 25min 5day inc.

3. Super random on what you get for scientists. Havent noticed any more problems getting scientists.
Though it did take me a while to figure out and you might not know, but military academies make scientists too, so if you build a couple more that might help.
