Increment Time problem

I cant use the increment time as it only advances 60 seconds no matter what i do.  Where is the the problem?

Chances are there are 2 NPRs fighting.

this is a common complaint, ive had it too.

the game simply must be able to interrupt for NPC races, or the ai wouldn't work properly.  I believe the stopgap solution is the Autoturn feature.  I dont know how to use it, but i hear it works.

Autoturn (the check box, I believe) makes turns keep going until an event that forces it to stop happens (A fleet finishes orders, for example), this will work while NPR's are fighting, too. There is another input box that forces turns to pass even if an event that would normally stop it occurs, which is right above autoturn.
