It was zero for the first year or so. Now it is set to 20% but for pre-industrial NPRs only.

Whenever I mention a release date, I am always wrong :). A lot depends on my current level of enthusiasm for playing/updating Aurora plus how much real life intervenes. I need to do more specific testing on the optional detection rules as I didn't test them very much at the time. Everything else should be tested during my current campaign. I would hope within a few weeks.

ah yeah those russian designs are pretty cool!

I wonder if any of the other navies could even survive an alpha strike ;p

edit:

back of the napkin calculation, a Project 1200 Atlant could likely kill or cause critical damage to both Dreadnoughts even with the presence of all 3 Agincourts.  (approximately 20 missiles, for 180 damage; Dreadnoughts have 215 armor total).

I think, using nato designation for Russia missile is strangely.  Most antiship missile have index P-xx  for shipbase missile (e. g.  P-15 Termite or P-700 Basalte) or Kh-xx (e. g.  Kh-35) for aircraft based.  For antimissile missile most logical using index R-xx (R-27) or GRAU indexes ?. g.  48N1

Yes, I know I am using NATO designations for the Russian missiles. I've always done that in previous campaigns as well. I guess it's because I grew up learning about Soviet warships from a Western perspective and the NATO designation seems a lot more familiar.

Off course, USSR designation most difficult and confused than NATO.   It happened due to espionage paranoia existed in the leadership of the USSR.   But, IMHO, using soviet/russia designation gives more authenticity to the story.

I use in most my campaign for Russia missile next designation -
P-x000 for shipbased antiship missile.   Name for missile type - rocks e.  g.   Granite, Basalte, Malachite, Onix.   (for example P-1000 Basalte or P-2000 Hematite)
Kh-xxx for fighterbased antiship missile.   (for example Kh-200 or Kh-201)
R-1xx for antimissile (for example R-121 or R-100)
R-xx for space analog ICBM (powerful warheads and long range - hundreds of millions or billions of kilometers) (for example R-10 Bulava (at English - mace) or R-11 Sineva (Azure)).   I did not see any tradition in naming for the ICBM in the Soviet Union or Russia.  I just use an already used names.

Sorry for my English.   I have bad English grammar, so sometimes errors can occur.

Sorry if this has already been stated/asked before, but do we know which of the three optional sensor rules Steve is using for this campaign?

Normal sensor rules for this campaign. No NPRs at the moment.

Don't worry, your post is 100% readable even if it's not grammatically correct :)

China survives negative seventy years, a new record!  (Or did you just give up in the face of 'the China curse' and deliberately exclude them so they wouldn't suffer an even worse fate at hands/paws/tentacles of a cold, uncaring universe?)

Hi Steve,

you named the german manufacturer of engines "Anschütz-Radetzky Engines Limited".  A complete german name would be "Anschütz-Radetzky Antriebe GmbH" or "Anschütz-Radetzky Motorenwerke GmbH"  ;)

Really nice game you have created here.   8)
