Title: New House Rule
Post by: ardem on October 18, 2011, 06:03:26 AM
I have though about this house rule, which adds a little more realism and open the door for more trade opportunities.

I personally have never liked build this and it will build the ship and the components will be build in space on the shipyard. I always liked the idea that components should be manufactured and then placed into the ship. There are some components that cannot such as geo and grav sensors, fuel tanks etc. However it would be nice to see some surplus system.

It will add more options for trade benefits as well.

We can add this now as there has been very little space activity.

I don't think forcing it would be a good thing.

The larger ships get the more likely we (or at least I) will be prefabbing them anyway. I have no trouble imagining a shipyard that builds its ships without prefabbed modules simply takes so long because the components are built on-demand on the planet's surface industry and brought to the yard through shuttles or orbital lifts.

The trade limitation on component blueprints sorta already handles the trading of components in my opinion.

I'd rather not be fored to build components, I will do so later but now I need my industry for other things :p I usually always try to prebuild jump drives
