Thanks for the review. It sounds very interesting and as an avid LOTR fan I will have to give this a go :)

Just a note for all you would-be-Aragorn's out there. When taking on a "signature" mob with 1200 hps, even if he's 4 levels below you, bring a friend. Or two.

Some screen shots for you all. The first (screenshot00000.jpg) is with the regular client. The rest are all with the hi-res client. There may be some odd bits graphically, that is due to nVidia screwing the pooch on the Vista drivers.

Very pretty pictures Erik - be interested to see how the game actually plays.

Graphics look good. Reminds me a little of Dark Ages of Camelot

In case you are curious... I've got an Intel HT 3.0 gig processor, 2 gigs 400mhz ram, 1 tb hdd, a nVidia 7600GS 512meg video card. The game is set to highest settings with the exception of shadows (causes too much breakup with the drivers). There is some lag in large congregation areas, and as well as just prior to a crash due to a memory leak.

I was grouped with 5 others last night and we were ripping through a couple of instances. There was very minimal lag that I noticed.

As for gameplay, in the shots with the UI displayed you can see my hotbars (middle bottom of the screen). The 4 buttons on the left are my ranged specials, the 5 or so on the right are melee specials. The other bars have buffs, a pre-combat root, couple potions and swapping crafting tools.

Typical combat for me as a hunter is to pick a mob, fire a special that snares the mob, followed by a special that shoots 2 arrows. In there is also 1 or 2 auto-attacks. Very rarely does the mob live to get to melee range. If I see a couple of social mobs, I'll set out a root trap, then follow as above, the unsnared one (usually) sets off the root, allowing me to finish the other, then hit him while he's rooted. In this case I do need to resort to melee as the root will break on the first or second shot, but the mob will be at 1/2 health or less (unless my shots miss, which has happened a couple times).

Realize also that the hunter is the nuker class, so it may seem a bit overpowered. In fact I think it is, and will probably be nerfed in the near future.

Any other questions, post them and I'll do my best to answer.

Closed Beta shutdown last night. Big end of the world type events. Much fun, much lag.

Friday, Pre-Orders are allowed into the game. Time undetermined as of yet. I'm aiming for the Silverlode server. April 6th, regular open beta keys get access.

I'm planning on creating a kinship "Heren Valdestel" which is Quenyan for Blessed Order of Hope.

Planned toons are Tenerial, elven Hunter; Oredan, dwarven Guardian; Saliant ?? Minstrel (probably elven); Laice, Elven Loremaster; and either a champion or captain. Name and race mostly undecided as of yet.
