Title: Scraping PDC
Post by: orfeusz on October 10, 2011, 04:25:20 AM
Is there a way to scrap PDC? Or is it only possible to destroy it and salvage wreck?

I ask because sometimes my PDC on less important worlds with limited construction capability become obsolete. I tend to destroy them and prefab new ones. Upgrading would take too much time. Its strange to use space salvage ship to get resources from planetary surface  :)

Also, how to spawn ship? I want to take a look in a system where i created new empire.

thanks

Not sure how to scrap PDCs, but to spawn ships, go to the main game menu, and under spacemaster, there is a button labeled Fast OB Creation.

Would it be by disassembling and then scrapping the prefab kit?

As far as I can tell there is no option to dissasemble or scrap PDC's once they are built. The only ways to get rid of them are either to delete the task group they are part of or destruct them and use a salvage ship to salvage the remains. On the other hand as PDC's don't cost anything to maintain then you might as well leave them as a final defence even if their outdated tech means they are unlikely to score a hit.

But you can refit them to a newer design.

hmm... yes but it's problematic on a worlds with few construction facilities.

Even if a scrapping was available, you'd have the same issue.
