Background
1944, June 6 ? Allied troops land on beaches in France opening a second front for World War 2.
1944, June 23 ? Allied advances stalled and renewed German troops push Allied troops back towards the beaches.
1944, July 8 ? Large formations of Allied troops are destroyed or captured by German troops.
1944, Aug 15 ? Britain sues for peace with Germany. America and Russia soon follow. British PM Neville Chamberlain declares ?We shall once again have peace in our time.?
1944, Oct ? Russian and American peace with Germany forces Japan?s surrender.
1944, Nov ? The Sozialistisches Deutsches Reich (Socialist German Empire) consists of Greater Germany, Northern France, Denmark, Netherlands, Austria, Czechoslovakia, and Poland. The rest of Europe is split between Spain (Spain, Southern France, and Portugal), Italy (Italy and most of the Baltic states), Britain (British Isles, Iceland), and Switzerland. North America is dominated by the United States of America, including most of Canada and northern Mexico. Alaska is a Russian state. Asia is dominated by Russia, which now includes Mongolia and most of Northern China. Southern China, including most of SE Asia is home to the ?tat Fran?ais Libre Dans l'Exil (Free French State in Exile). Japan is a protectorate with the USA and Russia splitting responsibility.
1945 ? 1948 ? The SDR accelerates research begun during the war. This leads the SDR, with the USA close behind, to become a nuclear power. German V-5 rockets with nuclear payloads are deployed.
1949 ? 1955 ? Discovery of a number of elements occur in this period. These elements become known as Trans-Newtonian elements.
1955 ? 1970 ? Technology advances are made with Trans-Newtonian elements forming the basis of the new technology.
1971 ? Relations between Spain, Italy and the SDR finally deteriorate to the point of war, with the SDR launching a surprise V-X nuclear strike on Rome and Madrid. Ground invasion followed immediately. Russia, Britain and the US begin to mobilize.
1972 ? 1973 ? Spain quickly falls to the SDR, leaving more troops for the Italian front. In a brash move, Russia invades Poland. The SDR retaliates with V-X nuclear strikes against Moscow, Odessa, Minsk and Leningrad.
1974 ? Italy falls to the SDR. Russia calls on their treaties with Britain and the US. Britain and the US invade France again. The SDR replies with V-X barrage against Britain, destroying London.
1975 ? Russia begins to lose ground to the SDR, pulling back behind the Urals. The SDR launches an invasion of Britain from the north.
1976 ? 1978 ? Fierce fighting across Britain is not enough to stop the SDR which forces a surrender of Britain in late Sept 1978.
1979 ? Russian troops fall back east of the ruins of Moscow. SDR troops use Norway and western Russia as a launch point to invade the United States over the North Pole.
1980 ? 1984 ? SDR troops conquer most of the remaining parts of Russia and the US. WW3 officially ends in 1984 as a victory for the SDR, though guerilla warfare continues for the next 10 years.
1985 ? 1995 ? Fighting slowly peters out as the newly christened Sozialistischer Deutscher Weltzustand (Socialist German World State) consolidates power.
1996 ? SDW astronauts land on the moon.
1997 ? 1998 ? Construction of orbital and a lunar presence begins.
1999 ? Present day.
