Custom Race problems

Hello.

I am trying to start a game as a custom race for something different to do.

I am using the instructions listed on the wiki but all that happens is I get error 91 into oblivion on system creation and it just crashes.

General flow is use the SM Race (in SM mode) to create a system. Then create a race on one of the planets you like. Then switch to that race and complete setup.

Well, that got a step closer. I got it to not error 91 to death, the game created a black hole system and when I went to have it create a new one it CTD with run-time error 76.

Did you just hit create system from the system view window?

This is what I am doing.

I go to new.

Select create Spacemaster Empire, set government type, conventional start, no missile bases, 2 NPRs, and set starting year to 1 max number of systems to 150.

Create game and twiddle thumbs... for a while...

When done select the new game (usually named New Game Name because I forget to rename it but I delete it every CTD).

Turn on space master.

select default race.

Go to system information (F9 key)

Create system.

Error 76 6 times then Run time error 76 "path not found planetjpeg\b16.jpg

Is there a b16.jpg in the planetjpg folder?

Hmm that could be the problem.

On further inspection there is no planetjpg folder.

Then your install appears to be broken, Reinstall 5.54, you should get :
Aurora.exe, stevefire,mdb, and the following folders:
Flags, medals, Planetjpeg, races and ships.
Then install the 6.4 Patch, drop a11.jpg,m24,jpg and b20, jpg into the planetjpeg folder, flag0390,jpg and flag0391.jpg into the flags folder, and then overwrite the old aurora.exe and stevefire.mdb files.
Finally install the 6.43 patch: Overwrite Aurora.exe with the new copy.

The SM race isnt there.  Neither is any other race
