Planetary Sensor Range?
« on: June 21, 2011, 08:51:18 PM »
Is there any published estimation of actual range for planetary sensors?  I assume its passive EM\Thermal sensors with its own tech line, and I see the Strength value, but I havn't been able to determine what the physical range of however many installations gives you, so I don't know if my installations are sufficient for what i'm using them for.

The problem with passive sensor range is it depends on the emmisions of the enemy ship.  On the F3 (map) screen there is an option (sensor tab) that lets you play around with the passive sensor detection range.  It can also show your active sensor range which can help figure out if what you have will do what you want.  This is about as good as it gets unfortunately.
