Sadly it was the Edmund Fitzgerald that clued me in on this one.

Twould be bad luck to use those names. Wouldn't want to end up like the Edmond Fitz.

I can't decide whether it's the acme of stupidity or badassitude to go running into glorious battle aboard a ship named "Edmund Fitzgerald."

maybe both...

Not Titanic?

Matt

PS the only one of the three Empress of Australias that applies was actually called Venezuela at the time. (Having travelled on the third one quite a few times it drew my attention).

Here's another one. Again, no name, and you have to guess. This is a naming convention I use for freighters, liners, harvesters, and miners of all kinds in my game. I'm relatively certain at least one person on the forum will get this because we talked about it before:

Code: [Select]
Luckey
Black Ball
Diamond
Old Maui
South Australia
Cape Horn
High Endeavour
High Barbary
Mobile Bay
Gypsy Rover
Irish Rover
Jolly Beggarman
Santianna
Morning Glory
Mingulay Bay
Fiddler's Green
Galway Girl
Spanish Lady
Queen Fairy
Mary Mack
General Taylor
John Francois
Jack Hinks
Whisky Johnny
Johnny Bowker
Johnny Mcledoo

close, some aren't irish. They're all "songs popular with sailors" though only a few are technically sea chanties.
