Since this is pretty dead, I wouldn't have any problems making the forums public. I kinda doubt we're going to get back into the flow of it.

I said we should go for outright conquest but nooooo, I got outvoted. See? See what happens when you don't end the game in five years? *grumble*

Jokes aside, I suppose I'm sort of in favor of making stuff public, but you'd have to ask the rest of my team.

It looks like the game is on indefinite hiatus. Do we want to leave the game mothballed until Panopticon (or some other replacement SM) has time to resume, or with 6.43 out should we end the game and make all the side forums public?

We are not using NPRs so nope. I will update my version though , it should help a lot with the heatdeath I get playing with 8 bil population and 500% difficulty.

There will still be some bugs in v6.40 that will get fixed as people report them over the next few days, so I wouldn't make any decisions just yet

Your words overwhelm me with wisdom, I will run a turn tomorrow.

I agree with Nightstar.

Well, what does 6.4 get us? The NPR upgrades are true awesome, but not that relevant for this game.
Interception movement. Convenient, but has workarounds.
New mineral generation, if you're not keeping the old minerals.
Underground infrastructure and forced labor -- not likely to be relevant.
Reduced BFC size.
Visible energy weapon impacts.

Basically, there aren't actually a whole lot of benefits to upgrading.

Plus we're rather fond of our civadmin, and our scientists aren't so bad. You could put those back in if you're willing to muck with the database, but that's adding work on more work.

I certainly won't object if the others say to upgrade, but unless you go into detail like replicating the officers, we'd want to rework a bunch of things.

I say it's your call. Besides, so you are the only one with direct save access the version change will impact you more than it will impact us.

Me, I'm happy to keep going with current game.

Speaking of which, is the current game 6.2x or 6.3?

Hey guys, 6.40 just released, so I have a question, we are early enough in the game that not much would be lost with a restart, it'd take me a week or so to recreate the world and you would end up with different scientists and such, but I am open to upgrading and changing over if you are interested.
