Title: Wiping a NPR off the face of the universe?
Post by: Jacob/Lee on August 26, 2011, 04:12:15 PM
Let's just say that 90% NPR spawn chance = bad idea. 20 races later I wish to bomb them all out of existence, problem is most of them span multiple systems and I have no damn clue where any of them are. Is there any way to wipe out a race with some sort of magical genocide button via Dev mode or SM mode? Or am I just going to have to spawn these massive death platforms over their planets and make them do the antimatter happy dance of doom?

On game creation, did you check the checkbox that says something along the lines 'create NPRs outside of SM capabilities'? If not, you could change the active race to theirs and simply abandon / destroy all their ships with a couple (hundred) button clicks. Otherwise I guess you'll have to eradict them manually.

Abandoning all their planets and vaporizing all the ships should count them as extinct, correct?

I guess so - it will at least nullify all calculations on increment advances they'd caus and no longer discover new systems. I'm not sure however.

How do I know if I've extincted someone?  Both races still show up as diplomatic options, though their homeworlds are gone and their ships vanished.

If you can get them in the Race (ctrl-F2) window, there should be a "delete this race" button.  Poof!

The problem is if they're computer-controlled.  If that's the case, I'm pretty sure you have to have access to designer mode.
