This should fix the greyed out buttons. It no longer launches Aurora (nor does it provide any feedback it's backing up).
Operation is as before. Set the options, select your game, click Backup. Launch Aurora via your normal method.
-
Erik, I have done as you said...set up the launcher, clicked back up and started Aurora...and well nothing happens. I have no backups showing up where they should. I will double check again the location the back ups should be but so far nothing. Additionally when I start it I get a string of windows errors which don't actually seem to stop the program running.
I have a windows 7 64 bit machine if that might make a difference. I'll update this with the actual error details next time I try to run the program.

Did you set up the options? I.E. game directory, etc?

I am seeing the same issue. Set the options and made sure the saves folder exists (an error is thrown if the folder doesn't exist).
Tried running program as admin as well and it didn't do anything.
It does show my current game in the box however it just will not launch Aurora no matter if I click the Start backups or Program > launch aurora.
-
This version does not launch Aurora. All it will do is copy the database to the save folder. You need to launch Aurora via your normal shortcut.
This is to prevent the "THIS IS A COPY" issue.
-
It does not copy anything and options are set properly with one exception...I have 2 saves set and there are two (old old old as in from 2009) saves present is that what is blocking things?
Also windows is throwing up an exception when I start the program over a window but it seems to work when I hit continue and ignore the problem.

What's the exception being thrown?

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Note: when I click continue it does so apparently without a problem.

Did you uninstall the .3 version prior to installing .4?
-
I have something called DBUpdate100.exe installed. I never had version 0.3.
Error messages vanished when I deleted this program. I am still not seeing the back up utility doing anything though.
-
For me it is also not working. All set properly but not copying database ???
-
So what is this program basically? Can I use it to transfer game files to other computer?
I have rather succesfull campaign on one computer that is going to be wiped, and I need to plan a search & rescue operation within 24 hours. Previous attempts at simply copying steve.mdb and aurora.exe, transporting them into another computer and overwriting the files of that computers aurora install hasn't worked so far. Only The campaign name comes up.

All you should need to do is copy the stevefire.mdb file. Just make sure you are copying between the same versions.
