VB6 Aurora > Installation
Error 3021
Gekneldeland:
. . . generated by DAO. field.
I keep getting this error and I've reinstalled the game a number of times.
1) First I run the setup (keeping original Files - answering YES. Windows 7).
2) Then I extract 554 update to the directory
3) I then install/extract the 620 update
4) I have changed the regional settings to US as well as UK and checked the decimal in "Additional Settings".
Anything else I might be missing?
Thanks in advance Wink
Erik L:
Did you install in a directory other than Program Files?
It sounds like the DB did not copy over correctly.
Gekneldeland:
I've tried a number of reinstalls now.
I got passed the first 3021 errors when creating a new game by running it as administrator (I also installed it as admin). But when I try the 30 day increment the game throws out the same 3021 error.
It doesn't seem to happen when I press the 5 second, 5 minute or even the hour increments ???
Does it make a difference when installing to Program Files (x86) or just simply to Program Files?
---
EDIT: I copied the files to the Program Files directory but still no difference. What I did find out is that the preset game (Space 1899) launches without hiccups and I can also increment it by 30 days without any errors.

It is actually advisable to NOT install in either Program Files(x86) or Program Files. Windows 7 has some serious issues with letting things get overwritten in those directories.
Gekneldeland:
Cleaned everything - Even scanned the registry for anything related to Aurora.
Fresh Install as Admin to a new Directory simply called Aurora.
Copied all the updates/patches as before.
I then ran Aurora. exe as admin.
Still crashes when I press the 5 or 30 day increment.

I'm going to download it again and see what happens
