Sorry if the question seems inane, but since I lack experience with forums games of this type, is there some specific thread where one could follow the turn-to-turn progression of the game up until this point, or will i have to try to shift through the myriad of threads here and try to get it in chronologically correct order?

There is no summary unfortunately, the RP and UN threads are probably the best ones for some idea how things happened chronologically.
