Setting an admin command?
« on: April 16, 2020, 04:48:19 PM »
Heya.

Maybe Im missing something... but how can I set an Admin Command to an specific type?

I mean... if I want to create a training / survey / whatever AC... how can I do it? Is it just setting the commander with a high skill?

Thanks

Is there a way to know that it worked? I don't see any identifier saying that it is a particular type.

1)Go to the "Naval Organization" screen. It looks like a star destroyer.

2) Select the "Root" of the OOB on the left side on the screen.

3) Select the "Admin Command" tab at the top of the screen.

4) Near the bottom, select which command type you want. General, Survey, Patrol, Whatever.

5) In the middle of the screen in the two columns, the left being "Systems Within Range", the second being planets with "Naval Headquarters". Select where you want it.
5a) If the system you want isn't on the list, build another Naval headquarters or move one closer to where you need to go.

6) Once everything is selected, click "Create Admin" in the bottom right corner.

The type of command should be listed in front of the command name if I remember correctly.

Just got to playtest the Naval OOB a bit and immediately stumbled upon how problematic manual officer assignment could be if I played a proper game. Leadership requirement for each level of Naval OOB chain, be that Admin Command or a fleet, is dynamic, based on highest commanding officer in the fleet at the lowest level, changing to +1 rank for each level above.

Shifting ships around with different CO levels would be changing the Admin Command requirements above that fleet, all the way up to the top. Putting a ship with a Flag Bridge and assigning an officer to that Flag Bridge (which is also manual only) would change the requirements of the entire chain above again.

The event log gives a notification once that you have an officer with a wrong rank at certain position, but that's it. Automatic "Naval Reassignment" just removes all officers from all admin commands.

This feature needs automation badly.
