In real life your diplomats can generally be spies anyway for your side or for theirs, if you really want to spy on somebody it helps immensely to have good enough relations with them that they don't mind having an embassy right inside their capital. Of course they assign espionage assets watching or infiltrating that embassy, and you do the same to their embassy on your world.

Just doing without the system window will be hard, but something else thats very important is the ability to quickly find the information you need by glancing at specific areas of a window.
I very frequently open the ship window or whatever just to glance at a single thing then close the window a second later, I can't imagine how frustrating it would be to require the entire contents of that page to be read out.
What aurora really needs for blind accessibly is a text based user interface, similar to a simple OS.
For instance you are presented with a list that corresponds to the main game windows.
(1) Economic
(2) system maps
(3) commanders
(4) class design
(5) ships
You can enter 5 into the console. Then get the following
(1) List ships
(2) List classes
(3) Ships requiring repair
(4) Fuel situation
etc, But if you remember a ships name you can just type that in and get it's main detail screen straight away
Then again instead of just listing every detail you have options. Perhaps you just want to check how much fuel the USS Harrison has left, or ammo? or damage? targets in range? Maybe multiple arguments can be checked at the same time
Type:
uss harrison fuel ammo damage targets
Getting the following
USS harrison : Fuel 15% 150,000 : Magazine 10% 53 ship killer s6 etc.
Considering Aurora is all inside a database it shouldn't be too hard for somebody to make something that can trawl through it for relevant information.

Those text files need to be in the folderyou have aurora installed to, just like for adding ship names. So the Same folder as Aurora.exe is in.

If the missile has sensors you don't even need the target to still be detected. Though good luck scoring a hit when your target is invisible if your missiles are practically blind

Technically this is a suggestion, though it's related to the last change so I'm putting it here. Sicne Salacia is finally be updated to dwarf planet status perhaps it's moon Actaea could be added, as well as giving Makemake it's moon M2.

As a counterpoint, research should be shared amongst planets, but maybe there should either be some lag as you travel further form the homeworld (measured by jump chain) particularly if a project is picked up by a different world. Sure research data can be sent around instantaneously, but the research facilities, staff availability, training, education, even the culture of a world would have an impact on it's ability to pick up and continue research done elsewhere.
Perhaps research specialization should take time to get into gear. A Power and propulsion researcher with a 25% bonus working on a P&P project on a world that hasn't done P&P research before should only get the 25% bonus at start, over time this bonus increases until finally getting the full x4 effect.
At the start when you just have a homeworld and haven't researched anywhere this specialization should be fairly fast, maybe only taking a year or something to get the full bonus. But later if you move labs elsewhere and decide for instance to make mars your power and propulsion research world it will take longer to get full specialization bonus. The length of time needed should be the one year base time, then increased by distance from home world, and perhaps also increased as your total P&P tech level increases.

The AI should be capable of making demands "Give us this system and we'll end this damn war!" etc.
Aurora seems to have very simplistic diplomacy, but something like the old master of Orion might be useful. However designing a good AI for a game as complex as aurora would be a full time job. :p
