PDCs belong on planets, so the crew time never rises unless you have to use a spacetime bubble.

And yeah, getting assigned to do a geosurvey of Epsilon Aquarii C at 1500+days from the JP is pretty much a penal assignment.

I like how the Coral Fort has a deployment time of 4 minutes 20 seconds ("It's time for a beer, I'm heading to the bar." "But you've only been here 5 minutes!" "My morale is sinking.") and the Scanner has a deployment time of 20 years ("I hope you like your 71 fellow crewmates.  They are the only people you will know for ~25% of your life!")

No critiques.  It looks good; I like destroyer squadrons myself.  I just thought the juxtaposition of the PDC and geosurveyor were rather funny.

The biggest problem I find, is that people fail to plan sufficiently in advance.  I tend to plan ~5yrs in advance, so that I have forces and facilities available in advance to meet future responsibilities.  It is no pain to take 3yrs to build a Destroyer squadron, if you have it finished before it is needed.

Currently, I have 3 Destroyer Squadrons, made up of 1 DL, 3 DEs, and 4 DDGs.  This will shortly morph into 4 Desrons that lose a DDG in favor of an FSV, as I need to begin to base these ships farther out, as I am now colonizing planets 6 jumps out from Earth.  In preparation for that move, Earth is producing ordinance and maintenance facilities for transport to the new Fleet Bases, each of which will have 2 DesRons on a rotating basis, with Sol sector covered by 2x 61kton BBs and 4x 25kton Light Cruisers.  Once the outer fleet bases are complete, the LCs will move in pairs to those bases, to backstop the DesRons as response forces.  Each Fleetbase, in lieu of shipyards, will build a single Drydock, capable of docking up to 40ktons of shipping.

Current missile stockpiles are low enough that the AMT design has not entered production, as I doubt I could fill it due to constant run-ins with spoilers.

This is my standard fleet doctrine, with limited examples of ship designs that are less tech dependent than what I have in production.  Actual designs for combat ships are not available at this time, as I am currently beyond the Inertial Confinement Fusion tech level, and would be a distraction I think from the discussion.
