Has anyone encountered this combination and if so, know of a way to fix it?

Error in cboGame
Error 380 was generated by Aurora

once that is clicked away, it becomes the more usual

Error in UpdateGameLog
Error 3201 was generated by DAO.Recordset

The problem is that I cannot even get into the game as this happens when initially launching Aurora. The second error then loops eternally and has to be killed by Task Manager.

Drive full? Access to the log directory? Log directory exists?

Drive not full. Log directory exists and Aurora has access to it as it has bunch of logs.

Few days ago I made some changes to the game via the starting screen, clicked "Save" and then played for a year in-game time. It's the only thing I can think of - like I had started the campaign with "create non-TN aliens only" option turned on, now I turned it off.

So no ideas? Shame, as the campaign was quite promising. Oh well, such is life.

I'm a bit late here, but do you still have that game? I would like to take a look at the database because I've seen that error a few times, and want to have a poke at it.

Sorry mate, no. I did a full reinstall of Aurora so it's long gone.
