Is it possible to create conventional NPRs?

Officially? No, that isn't supposed to be possible, but in 6.2 I accidentally spawned one by clicking the close X on the Create Empire dialog when I changed my mind half way through setting up a conventional player faction.

That said, why? All a conventional NPR will do is provide target practice, which can just as easily be set up with a half-managed conventional player faction.

I've heard of people setting up conventional empires, possible using designer mode, however the NPR will never research to Trans newtonian technology and there are other odd effects which i can't recall right now.

". . .  We know nothing about them, their language, their history or what they look like.  But we can assume this.  They stand for everything we don't stand for.  Also they told me you guys look like dorks. "

Ahhh if an NPR can never reach Trans-Newtonian on it's own then yes I see the logic that there is no point in having one. Thanks for the reply.
