Sudden Death Aurora
« on: March 11, 2013, 04:39:12 AM »
So I realised the fastest way to learn (anything in life really) is to be put under pressure. So I've created a Sudden Death game: two systems, 1 JP set and 1 NPR.
Has anyone ever tried this before? And if so, what are your thoughts on this style of game?

That's a very good way to learn what not to do in terms of basic combat design. The only real problem is that the AI isn't terribly good. After a few games, you'll be able to take it apart without too much effort.

Play both sides.   It is absolutely the best way to learn the mechanics of ship movement and combat.  Once your comfortable with these basic mechanics, then start a campaign.

a slightly easier Sudden Death is to create an NPR on Titan.  It will declare war on you sooner rather than later. :)
