I've heard the name,  but nothing else about it,  ah reading a bit it's basically targeted to the users disgruntled about Opera dumping the Presto render engine,  sounds like a good alternative then.

Actually I just discovered Vivaldi, made by a former Opera developer, seems pretty good so why not?
Looks like I'll get my new PC soon, it'll have win 10, but I think I have the hang of that now.

everything I've heard shows Firefox MUCH worse on memory management,  you do know Opera is now built on top of Chromes Webkit render engine?  though it does appear to be where all the frantically anti-google firefox crowd have gone.

Time to try opera maybe? I really don't want to use chrome as it always gives me grief, my sisters laptop can't handle having it open while playing fallout. Might be the 400 mb of ram it uses even just with Google open.

Not sure about native versions of Safari they may be fine, like the Mac version of iTunes, however the windows versions of Safari is clown shoes,  much like the windows version of iVirus, er tunes.

well since the rabif Firefox fanboys are starting to desert it,  I think it's gotten worse since you left it.

you picked the one browser worse than Edge?

even Safari is a better choice than FF at this stage
Considering 95% of my foruming is done with Safari on my phone I should be offended. Though I haven't really used Firefox for about a year so maybe it went downhill in the time I was using IE 11.

IE worked fine, then Microsoft decided to prune all the features out of it, dispite that it's slow as balls.
I'm back to Firefox fanboyism now.

They can call it another name and give it some new looks, but its still the same crappy browser.

Umm no,  it's completely unrelated which is actually the source of most of it's problems.

I was happy with IE. Prior to Win10/Edge. Even IE11 in Win10 flakes out somewhat. And I dislike Google.

Use Memory Alpha?

Never mind, it's hosted on wikia too. I didn't know that.

Aparrently edge uses less power? So there's that. Though when I tested with wikia the baseline 2 watts before opening the browser went upto 3.5 watts with intermittant peaks of 6 watts using chrome, and 3.2 watts with peaks of 12 watts on edge. So er? Wikia is a terrible website I guess is the result of that experiment, it's ads are cancer and I should be ashamed of using it to crib Star Trek related factoids.
