Assault Ship w/ Fighters and Support Ships

 - This is the final iteration of my Consolidated-Class and my Dreadnaught-Class ships, and much closer to the original intent of the former. When I sat down to design the Consolidated-Class Patrol Cruiser, my original idea was to have a ship which could carry elite assault troops, themselves equipped with FFD, and provide them with Ground Support Fighters and/or Orbital Bombardment. That design got hit with feature creep, eventually giving birth to the Dreadnaught-Class War Cruiser. Feedback on that design led to the creation of the -S variant for MSP / Fuel Support. These designs represent the final culmination of those ideas, and I've sat down to properly present them here.

 Dauntless Class Assault Ship:

 - Built to drop an elite 15,000 Ton Assault Team, this ship's role is very offense-oriented. It's weaponry, however, is very defense-oriented. A group of six 10cm Railguns make up the vessel's primary Point Defense armament, relying on volume of fire rather than accuracy in this role. These guns are supplemented by six turreted 10cm Lasers for Area PD, while a whopping forty Class 1 Missile Launchers provide AMM support as well. These 10cm Lasers can also be used in the Anti-Fighter role, supplemented by thirty six Class 3 Missile Cells loaded with AFMs. It's dedicated anti-ship armament consists of a quartet of Class 2 Particle Beams, and is supplemented by a battery of twelve Class 3 Missile Launchers firing ASMs. All of these various roles are further enhanced by the vessel's compliment of eight Dauntless Strikefighters.

 - In terms of passive defenses, the Dauntless-Class Assault Ship has very light armor and modest shields. Not a particularly fast ship, the Dauntless-Class does somewhat compensate for this by having an excellent sensors package, replete with a battery of Active Sensors, powerful passives and even a pair of ELINTs for the gathering of tactical and/or strategic information. A comprehensive battery of fire control systems allow the Dauntless-Class to effectively engage a variety of enemies simultaneously, while enabling it to better deal with swarms of enemy strike craft or FACs. Cryogenic Berths provide an effective back-up should the ship's Life Support Systems sustain damage while a quartet of Cargo Shuttle Bays allow it to retrieve it's soldiers after the battle as well as pickup survivors in a pinch. An large array of Command and Control systems afford the vessel good accuracy, efficient repairs, and effective carrier ops.

 Dauntless Class Strikefighter:

 - Named after the class of Assault Ship, this strikefighter not only uses the very same missile cells as that ship, but has it's TAS (Target Acquisition System) derived from it as well. 35% Thermal Reduction on it's 250% Boosted engines help keep it from being detected too easily, while it's 375 Ton profile means that standard Resolution 10 Anti-Fighter Sensors have trouble picking it up. A multitude of sensors and M-FCS modules let it engage a variety of targets effectively.

 - Doing exactly what it says on the tin, the Scout is a small and expendable craft for when you just want something to keep an ear out for any trouble. Nine days of Life Support and a wekk of fuel let it stay on station for two days before needing to return for rest, refuel and resupply. 35% Thermal Reduction on it's 125% Boosted Engines make it exceptionally hard to spot on Thermals, while the 125 Ton profile makes it difficult to spot on typical Resolution 10 sensors too. A sneaky breeki if nothing else. :)

 - The primary support ship, the Matron provides  a jump engine for the rest of the support ships presented here, as well as for three Dauntless-Class Assault Ships in the form of it's Patron-Class Jump Tender Station. Recreational Facilities allow it to bolster the morale of the fleet, while a large swath of cryogenic berths and eight Cargo Shuttle Bays allow it to scoop up survivors of past battles. Twelve CIWS and a full sensor complement round out the vessel.

 - Carried in the belly of a Matron-Class Mothership, the Patron-Class is a design for a "Jump Drive In a Box" to allow commercial ships to transit military vessels AND themselves. The small fuel allotment is there because: A. I had two tons to round off, B. Reactors can't be used in Space Stations, C. AFAIK, having fuel let's engineless ships be tugged faster... for some reason. At least it did in the VB6 version of Aurora.

It takes three of these to fully maintain just one Dauntless-Class Assault Ship, but even still it's nice to have some mobile repair. It doubles as an MSP supply ship as well.

A twenty layer armor scheme with just as many CIWS help to somewhat alleviate that short-coming, while a full complement of sensors let's the Reload-Class be less blind. An Ordnance Transfer Hub let's it re-arm ships in a highly efficient manner.
