Title: C# Aurora v1.70 Patch
Post by: Steve Walmsley on April 19, 2020, 01:25:48 PM
This is not save game compatible. Delete the Aurora.exe and AuroraDB.db files from the installation directory and then copy the two files from this patch into that directory.

v1.7.0 Patch (http://www.pentarch.org/steve/Aurora170.rar) (21Mb)

There are still a few unfixed bugs but I made enough DB changes that I can't use databases from bug reports, so time to update.

If you reported a bug in a previous version and I didn't explicitly state it was fixed, please check it still exists in v1.7 before reporting it. Please do not report bugs from earlier versions.

Please read Known Issues before reporting bugs

Just a quick check but was the ‘all JPs lead back to Earth’ bug fixed?

Suggest you make a check list of some sort and go thru it before release.

Yes, that would be sensible. However, Aurora has been built without any documentation, so it feels right to test it that way :)

Besides, if I was sensible, I probably wouldn't have started this project. I have fillet steak and a nice red in my near future and that is currently higher priority :)

Looks fixed. Did a quick test of 20 NPRs, only saw 2 of them in the first 7 years of random stars gameplay.  :)

Missiles with no engine - should be fixed now. I will remove from Known issues.

Now my anti-virus is blocking the image links :)

I'm not sure I can help you with that problem; there's nothing about a png file that would harm your computer. Still, does it give you an error message?

Can somebody confirm it is better to cancel the old database and copy the new one rather than overwrite?

I may have just been unlucky as the first game I created with 1.70 had a several strange bugs at the start (first time since 1.0 release), then I remember that I overwritten the database rather than cancel it like I usually do and so I have just cancelled the old database and installed the new one and so far no issues. Then, of course, I read about the colony bug so I revert to my 1.6.3 game.

thanks.

Ha! Now you are starting to sound like a few of my former employers.
