After game generation, examining the F2 screen, the research tab shows 180k RP available, however I used the random assign RP in the race creation.

I just finished generating a Sol race with no trans-newtonian tech and random number of jump points.  The 4 jump points are showing up in my system displays and orders windows in non-SM mode, even though the survey locations are unsurveyed.  I tried removing survey information in SM mode and also incrementing by 5 seconds.  Neither worked.

My 4.0b race has the following missiles: Tridente Anti-missile Missile (size 1), Star Dragon Anti-ship Missile (Size 6), and the Chiquito Anti-Ship Missile (Size 4).

On the ship (or in this case PDC) ordnance loadout, I only see the Tridente and the Chiquito missiles. I added 5k each Star Dragon and Chiquito and 15k Tridente to planetary stocks. The PDC has 20 size 6 launchers.

Hmm possibly not - I tested lasers this morning and they were fine. I guess I need to test all the other beam weapons again :)

The ordnance tab does not update with changes to magazines.

Workaround - Select the class from the class dropdown again.

The auto-generated missile ships have their magazines overloaded... by at least 2x.

I just had a geo-survey finish construction.  I had auto-assign on, and it assigned a free officer.  I didn't like that officer for the job, so I assigned a different officer (my fleet survey officer).  I'm 99% Aurora did NOT pop up a "do you want to replace the existing commander" box.  At this moment both officers think they're the commander of the ship - in other words the old officer did not get bumped.  The ship thinks that the old officer is its commander.  The fleet survey officer slot is empty, i.e. the new officer has left his old billet.

I think they're going to grab a pair of cutlasses and have at it on the bridge to determine who gets to run the ship :-)

This was actually my 2nd survey ship that I built, and almost-identical scenario played out the first time too (with the same "old" commander - I'm trying to drive him into a deep depression).  I think (but am not sure) the only difference is that I did a 5-day timestep before trying to replace him.  Everything seemed ok the first time this happened.

[A few minutes later]

OK - I just assigned the old officer to the fleet survey post.  After I got him out of the way, the ship (and it appears everything else) decided that the new commander was in charge after all, even though I didn't do anything else with him.  I'm probably going to relieve and assign him again in hopes of cleaning up any remaining corruption in the database.

I'm seeing this effect (more than one commander assigned to a ship) a lot.  Not sure if it's correlated with auto-assign or not, since I've got it (auto-assign) on.

Those are the survey locations. Check under Display to see if the toggle is there.

Do you only see this if you manually assign one or is this happening just as a result of auto-assign?

These are the locations a grav survey ship has to visit in order to survey a system. I tend to have this switched on and I obviously left it on by accident. You can turn it off using the Show JP Survey Locations option on the Display tab. Or, if you leave it on, you can also use the Hide Surveyed Survey Location option on the Display 2 tab, which will hide any locations that have been surveyed. Without this second option, surveyed locations will turn to white dots instead of white circles.
