Would be great if standing orders were checked every 5 days instead of at the end of the increment. This way your ships can survey more than 5 planets every 30 days or so because of the standing order only queuing up 5 new locations at the end of every turn

Can we get rid of the 30 day turn option, or is that a bridge too far? Now that the game runs so fast, it seems a little excessive.

While we're at it, can we remove the fixed shipyard expansion tasks (add 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000 tons)? The new features on the continual capacity expansions make those orders superfluous.

Ideas for new Conditional Orders:
  • Cargo full -> unload cargo and return (for asteroid miners)
  • Refuel & Resupply at colony

I think the 30-day turn is still useful for conventional starts, but I do agree with getting rid of expansion tasks and renaming "Continual Capacity Expansion" to just "Expand Capacity".

Since conditionals can't give multiple orders for example

If Supply points Drop Below 20% Resuply then overhaul

It would be nice if overhaul would resuply the ship with Maint Supplies, since it kinda makes sense? Would mean i would never have to worry about my Grav/Geo ships anymore


Maybe adding some way to apply any number of conditionals and orders after the conditionals are met?

You can do that. Second button on the bottom row. It says "Obso Comp".

Could we please get a Deployment time % conditional. Like @90% or 100% or something.
That way survey ships wouldn't run them self ragged if auto turn go by a bit fast  :)

It might be quite a bit more useful to have civilians excluded from a lot more screens.  Right now they clutter up almost every fleet selection box.

Since carrying capacity is a thing, it would be a nice QOL feature for the game to tell you the maximum potential protection requirement of a planet when it reaches its pop cap.
That way one can plan the size of defensive garrison fleets.

I would like to suggest a filter field for fleet destinations.
Trying to find that one asteroid amongst the way-too-many rocks in Sol when the list seems to use some archaic ordering system is not a fun time, especially when the object you're trying to find may not even be an asteroid...

There're already mechanisms for adding custom flags, racial portraits, and naval leader names; adding the ability to provide custom ship names and ship class names would create the potential for "Race packs" to customize starts. 

With a tweak to folder layout, you could allow coherent 'Races' to be created:

Oh tiny little thing, maybe I'm dumb and can't find it but somewhere (perhaps the new game screen?) can we have the version number?

I can't remember if I've updated or not! :)


On another thread, Steve Walmsley said, "(check the Misc tab for version number)?"  So I guess that's where it is.

Does the "Miscellaneous" tab of the system map do what you want? You can add new ship/commander name themes to your database via text files, though there is no way to pass it on to other people than to have them do the same thing in their game.

That's exactly what I was looking for - for some reason I thought that screen only allowed you to change commander name themes. Thanks!
