If you need a scientist of a specific specialisation, you can also switch the field of study of surplus scientists in the commanders window. This loses 75% of their bonus, but they can get bonus back through working in their field. This is very useful at the start of the game.

I mean, the nature of a random chance. . . . .

Given a sufficiently large sample size, basically any given specified outcome will become expected.  You may have just hit the virtual lottery.  I would suggest starting a new game, if all the randomly generated scientists on game start are logistics. . . . . you would appear to have a problem.  Otherwise I would suggest the RNG gods are having a good giggle at your expense.

Much like a few years back where I ran a game for 80 years and never saw a construction scientist. . . started a new game and every single scientist but one was a construction scientist.

Yes, sometimes the generation doesn't seem so random ... but without starting a new game, I prefer to regenerate the entire pool as a Master

In this case I think @ Zap0 is right, having defined the Academy Commandant

Thank you and Happy New Year

Do you have an academy commander set? They make it more likely that scientists spawn with the same specialization as the commander.

Yesss! I have set the Academy Commandant: Elena Cattaneo, a great Logistic scientist with 50% bonus, age: 47, and excelent health...

So this is the reason! Now I chage the AC with a SC scientis.

Tank you very much...and Happy New Year

I don't know if it's normal, bad luck, maybe a weird bug, but in my current game (conventional start, no mod) all new scientists are spawned with only one specialization: logistics, with a bonus varying from 25% to 10%

Has anyone else had the same problem?

Edit: I can't attach a screenshot, it's a 34Kb jpg but when I post it come up a security check problem message...
