Does anybody know the maths or the correct terminology that you could use to automatically arrange the systems in the galaxy map so that they have a semblance of equal spacing whilst still being relevant to their linked systems?

I can't appear to get the correct phrase in Google to give me articles to read on this. I tried 'equally spacing two dimensional points' but that failed and doesn't take into account that I also want to have a factor in there about one or more of the points being linked.

Want to see if I can figure out the maths and then maybe some kind of function Steve could use to auto-organise the galaxy map - as an option, instead of manually doing it.

Biggest issue is the systems are arranged by jump links.
