Trying to wrap my brain around an issue with my network at home. The basic topology is shown in the picture.

Router 1 is a standard 4port router/hub. Router 2 is a 4 port wireless router/hub.

There are two segments in the network, router 1 (192.168.2.xxx) and router 2 (192.168.1.xxx). Router 2 has an address on the 2.x segment.

Now the issue is I need certain ports forwarded to C4. I've set up port forwarding in R1 to send requests on that port to R2. R2 is set up to send to C4 (which has a static IP). However, the data isn't getting there. Any ideas?

Can you send the request from C3?

That will determine whether R1 has anything to do with the holdup.

Is R2 (or R1) set to restrict any traffic running over them?  

For that matter, does C4 have a software firewall that closes the ports in question?

I finally figured it out last night...

It was a combination of the Windows firewall on C4 blocking the port and R2 doing odd things. R2 is now in pure WAP/switch mode, and all router functions are being handled by R1.

Sometimes I really hate computers.
