Splitting up pages

Looking over the wiki I had the idea of collecting all components in a single component template, and then split up all the pages combining info about many different components like beam weapon ranges onto the individual component pages.
However I'd like to know what others think before I go around restructuring and deleting pages.

I'd love this, and in fact I have proposed splitting up the wiki component pages myself before. 
However, whether I am in line with majority thinking I can't say.  ;)

From me there's a clear "go ahead"!

I think pages about multiple components like beam weapon ranges would still be useful for general compare/contrast and overall information about the technology.     It would serve a different purpose from the component pages though.  If we look at the new Template:Components (hxxp: aurorawiki. pentarch. org/index. php?title=Template:Components&oldid=4938), it would be more like a component topic header like we have linked in old Template:Components (hxxp: aurorawiki. pentarch. org/index. php?title=Template:Components&oldid=4401).

I'm not sure what you are trying to tell with the two different Templates, one is a newer version of the other, so they are similar. Can you elaborate?
Also I don't intend to split up the analysis pages where people compared sensors/beams/whatever, only the info directly pulled from the game.

I was trying to point out an example of what the analysis pages would be linked from which would the left side of the template list - basic systems, power and propulsion, etc.  Some of them are currently analysis pages, but some are just lists of whats on the right hand side.

Excellent.  I was worried you might be splitting up analysis too.
