NPR fleet over homeworld
« on: December 04, 2012, 12:56:01 PM »
There is some reason why ally NPR keep fleets over most of my planets?
I guess he help protecting them but there is some magic button somewhere to tell him to go away?
So only I lose DR points for holding military ships in system of other race?

I believe the magic button is "FIRE".
I have never had a game last long enough to run into this problem.  Sorry, just trying some levity for the situation.

Yes, but you have them right where you want them.   Build PDC's with mega-mesons, or your RP weapon of choice, and blast them all to pieces.  Suddenly, they don't outnumber you as much as they used to.

QAPLA!

The closest thing for me was a neutral race that picketed my planets for a while. I had no way to fight back, so I just hoped they were being curious while I tried to build some ships. Everything went well, until they got curious about how kinetic bombardment weapons would affect my population's health. That was a very fast game.

Building PDCs sounds like a good idea to me, if just as insurance in case they become curious in the same way as my NPRs did.

Considering that they are here for over 30 years and we have all diplomatic agreements working in both sides i doubt they nuke my planet ;-)

I hope...  ;D

I remember an AAR concluding that they were safeguarding their trade ships, but no clue if that's actually the case

For cases like these I'd love somesort of diplomacy screen where you can tell the xeno bastards to sod off my bloody system, you squatting twats. This isn't a charity center and I'm not planning to build them for your lazy butts.

I remember having the same problem in one of my games. Of course, this particular NPR had destroyed the very first ship I had sent into their system (geosurvey) so I was kinda planning on going "SURPRISE!" with a couple of Meson PDCs. If it wasn't for my corundium crunch combined with a new version or something coming out, I woulda done it too!

I think there should be a feature that imposes a socialist welfare system that doesn't allow that to happen and forces you to pay them welfare. :D ;D

What size ships are you seeing? It might just be their trade fleet sitting quietly due to a bug or something. If it is military vessels they are probably protecting their territory, which apparently now includes you and you didn't realize it.

I once had a squadron of FAC from a friendly NPR shadow my civilian trade ships for about a month, they turned on sensors and forced 30 second increments the entire time. It sucked. After that I decided to allow now more NPR ships in the home system, got some decent intel out of it and relations didn't suffer too terribly.
