Towing shipyards
« on: November 20, 2012, 11:13:10 AM »
So I built my first tug:

Code: [Select]
Thomas class Tug    26,700 tons     155 Crew     594.5 BP      TCS 534  TH 2500  EM 0
4681 km/s     Armour 1-79     Shields 0-0     Sensors 1/1/0/0     Damage Control Rating 8     PPV 0
MSP 111    Max Repair 100 MSP
Intended Deployment Time: 3 months    Spare Berths 1
Tractor Beam

250 EP Magnetic Fusion Miser (10)    Power 250    Fuel Use 0.27%    Signature 250    Exp 2%
Fuel Capacity 250,000 Litres    Range 624.1 billion km   (1543 days at full power)

This design is classed as a Commercial Vessel for maintenance purposes

I'm trying to tow a shipyard from Earth to Europa.  I found the command that let the ship attach to the shipyard, and now it's steaming (slowly) for Europa with the shipyard in tow.  In the Task Group page, in the "Ships in Task Group" sub-window, it shows TG Thomas (Linked to Civilian Yard 1) and then Civilian Yard 1 (under tow.)

So far, so good.

However, since attaching to the shipyard, I'm getting 50-60 Error 5 dialogs popping up every fiveday.  It's going to be a looong flight, and dismissing those dialogs is getting tedious.  Am I doing something wrong with my tug technique?

I'm reasonably certain that the tug is the culprit because the error dialogs stop when I clear his orders.  When I order him to continue toward Europa, the dialogs start again.

The tug looks fine to me, I'd post this over in the bug report thread.
