The biggest issue I see with a download link on the wiki, is that it would need to be updated on a regular basis like the install thread is.

You missed one. ;)

I redirected it to the installation forum.

I have just realised there were download links to install files in the Wiki that were several versions out of date. I didn't realise there were any download links at all in the wiki until today. These links may have been causing some of the upset in other forums regarding installation. I couldn't understand why people were having such installation issues or why so many new players seem to somehow be on an old version but this is probably why. It also may mean there are a lot of people with the software who are not registered users of these forums, which is why they are complaining on other forums rather than this one. One of the reasons for requiring people to register for the install files is so they are already setup to post if they have problems.

I have removed the download links from the wiki to avoid confusion and added a link to the forum instead. They only way to keep the install process up to date and avoid further confusion is to have the download link in one place only so I would ask that no one adds new downloads to the Wiki. I do appreciate the work that people put into the Wiki in general terms and I have never specifically banned any such links as it never occurred to me that they would be added. I just need to maintain control of the install process.

Thanks,
Steve
