Beautiful, I'll give it a shot once I'm done with this game. Thanks for the advice!

The only way i solved was moving all the folders and starting a new game. This wasn't too important for me because I was learning the game and wasn't invested in my current game. While not a solution for your current game future ones should be free of the flags issue.

Sounds like you don't have all the flag gifs in the flags directory.

I think I do. There're 389 of them, eh? And they're supposed to be in a separate folder as in the installation stuff, eh?

Might be that one of the NPRs does not have a flag set to it.

It happened to me before, you can check in the DB if you have the password, but I am at work and can not remember the exact table.

Would that explain that I get six of those error messages before it loads the map? And I don't have a password for said database, I reckon.

That didn't appear to work. But the thing is, when I go to the Galactic Map, I get

Code: [Select]
Error 76 was generated by Aurora
Path not found: Flags\

six times in a row, then I see the map. When I try to see a flag of the one alien race I've encountered, I get just a blank white space where the flag should be.

Well, that fixed it for everything except the flags! I mean, this specific issue strays into tech help, but is the reason that I'm getting the error about flags in the OP because there's the \ ? If so, where would I go to correct this error?

Bring up your race info, Ctrl-F2 I believe and select a flag and save.

The Ships and Flags path not being found means you havn't installed aurora correctly. The base game zip has the following folders: Flags, Medals, Planetjpeg, Races & Ships. Copy + Paste these folders into your current install of aurora (contains Aurora & stevefire.mdb) Your game should then be able to correctly find and display the images contained within each of the folders.

Shift click and drag the systems to the new location. In the menu at the top there is a button, which I believe is called sys pos. It's in the bottom left. Click it and then there will be a side bar with the buttons align to grid and save system positions.

I've got a game going in which I've found about a dozen systems, finally started the process of colonising adjacent ones now that I've build a couple of jump gates.

Whenever I open the Galactic Map, I get two errors (though in the end I can still load the map, sorta):

Code: [Select]
Error 76 was generated by Aurora
Path not found: Ships/EnterpriseA.gif
Code: [Select]
Error 53 was generated by Aurora
Path not found: Flags\

And then both of them refer me to 'http://aurora2.pentarch.org/viewforum.php?f=11'. This I imagine is a relic that wasn't updated when the forums moved or something recently?

And about those errors, what can I do?

My other question, and it might be related to the errors I have. My Galactic Map shows 3 systems, two of which are groups overlaid over each other, like so:

How do I move them around so I can get a good idea of what links where?

Thanks
