The cost of solar panels has gotten cheap enough that there are companies that will install them on your roof for free and just charge you for the electricity that you use.
How do I know this? I am now working for one of those companies.
It's a pretty good deal since you don't have to spend $15k-$20k installing panels and getting permits. Currently this company only operates in the US (and not in every state). This is a good ways of going green and saving green at the same time.
