Fleets and Task Group Organization
« on: July 26, 2009, 08:22:35 PM »
Ok how to I create sub Fleets.   I created a Seventh Fleet and have created a Task Group 71 how do i make the task group in the chain of command of 7th fleet

Also is there a quick way to change all my ship commanders.   I now have a lot of Commodore and Admirals commanding scout ships.  I starting to get crew unrest modifers from because the crew keep complaining about how much room all the brass is taking up on the ship. :D

For fleets, the way to indicate the chain of command is in the task group window (F12) Organization tab.  Directly under the tab is a box which list the superior fleet.  Change that to the superior fleet, hit save and you are done.  Also play around with forming escort groups and putting them on different threat axis.  You can find those controls under the Task Group Orders tab as well.

As far as changing the commanders, the easiest way will probably be to open up the Commander (F4) screen.  In the top left there is a check box for automated assignments and a pull down menu for the length of time for an assignment.  If you choose one month for the first round it will reassigen all officers on ships.  You will still probably have some senior officer in command of scouts, etc but it will move stuff around for you.  After that just change the length of tour to whatever you feel is appropriate.  It can be up to 60 months.  The computer will automatically change the commanders when their individual time is up.  One thing to be carefull of is that periodically it helps to tell the computer to change everyone's command so that they are all rotation on the same schedule.  Otherwise a commander is relieved, the program checks for who is the most qualified and they go right back on board the same ship as they are the most qualified.

Hope this helps
