MSP vs Missile size
« on: July 16, 2020, 06:30:39 PM »
I have just created an Long Lance Anti-Ship Missile... it has a MSP of 9 on the missile design page but on the tech page
its size is noted as 22.5   I am a bit confused as I designed a size-9 Missile Launcher for them.   Why the difference?  thanks!

9 MSP is equal to 22.5 Tons, so your Size 9 Launchers will work. They are the same size just expressed differently.

As to why? My best guess is:

Fighter Pods can be installed into a Missile Launcher, but at a reduced rate. Displaying the tonnage, outside of adding some flavor, allows you to plan ahead if you intend to build Fighter Pods for that Launcher.
