 - I know this kinda dumb, but can we have a Calculator in game? Like a legit, straight up calculator, for division, addition, etc...

 - I could use the windows one, but a native one would be nice. And a notepad, for jotting down things.

I don't really see the advantage of these, when you can just open notepad or the system calculator. Aurora4x doesn't run fullscreen proper, so you can just use them like normal. I regularly keep Notepad++ open for taking quick notes of goals/contacts/etc in my games.

I have an Excel Spreadsheet Template always on a second monitor that provides me with: plan, designs, missile stockpile calculator, terraforming tool, logistic tool, ground unit templetes and formations, memory wall etc.

Even if there was a inbuilt calculator/note tool I wouldnt use it to be honest.

I do understand why the request though.

Aurora should have into the basic requirements 2 monitors or even better 3, like I have. With one monitor it's mostly unplayable unless you are prepared of jumping from a window to another.

Single monitor is easier in 1.12. The events on the main window have colours and can be used to centre on the event with a double-click. I find now that I only open the events window to check a previous increment. I am sure its just coincidence this was developed while I was in my motorhome and had to play on a laptop :)

That's funny.
I bought a third monitor for my home PC shortly after you released C#.
I did so primarily to have a constant view of the galactic map.

I have never played with anything other than a single monitor, and it works absolutely just fine. Though I understand how it could be easier with two monitors.

Depends, I guess that if you have a 7680 x 4320 pixels monitor, one should be enough!

I had been playing Aurora on a single monitor up to last night.

I just upgraded my 12+ year old machine with a single 19" monitor to something a bit better with a pair of 27" .

Of course I had to load up Aurora to test displays and connectivity before bringing in the less important work apps...

I use 3 monitors myself: One for the game, one for Twitch/Netflix but I also drag Aurora windows there when needed, and my phone for the Event Window (using SpaceDesk to connect it to my PC).

I play aurora on a 15 inch screen laptop without any external monitors connected. Its not as bad as some people think though I imagine if I ever get a system with 2 monitors I will have trouble going back.

Play Aurora on a 4k primary display and a secondary 1440p display. Still find myself jumping between windows a whole ton and wishing I had a 3rd display or some more unified screen within Aurora to track certain things like design compatibility, especially when I am designing same fleet ship designs that need to be balanced in a certain way to meet certain C# rule changes. That often now requires having a spreadsheet for working out which ship refits into another cheaper to find the optimal shipyard tooling approach, then a calculator open for component design tweaks to fine tune component costs to do silly minor cheese refit cost changes so the everything falls under the threshold.

Wasn't so bad in VB6, but some changes in C# have really made trying to make a base ship design that then has role specialised variants that all can be produced in the same shipyard a right friggin juggling cluster<bleep> making silly minor design changes that then cause massive changes to shipyard compatibility due to the heavy weight refit cost between design now factors into things. More so once you start trying to work with 40,000+ ton combat ships I've found.... smaller design it's not really required, but after a certain design tonnage point even just 1 layer of armor difference can throw everything off for the refit cost factoring.

The popular stereotype of the researcher is that of a skeptic and a pessimist.  Nothing could be further from the truth! Scientists must be optimists at heart, in order to block out the incessant chorus of those who say "It cannot be done. "
