Design based on missile spam
« on: December 26, 2015, 10:42:35 PM »
There are the backbone of my current fleet. Eclipse class is supposed to be an all-purpose Corvette, contains 1500 AMM, 40 ASM and 40 Anti-Air Missile as 7.00 added NPR carrier, AAM would share AMM's sensor and fire control.  Illustrious class is, basically, a beehive filled with 200 ASM. I don't use box launcher on Illustrious class, because 2nd strike is still needed.

My experience is that armor is not very useful, and my defence rely on AMM spam. Engagement in another campaign showed that 3 hit of WH4 missile can't gurantee a kill on a FAC, so Hellfire II is WH9.

My battlegroup contains 1 jump tender, 2 Eclipse and 4 Illustrious, they will launch 480 missiles in first salvo.

I would change your anti missile defense on your Eclipse class.  I mean every AMM fire control can track one target at a time - so you can fire at 4 while having 40 launchers.  I prefer a smaller ratio than 1:10 when the missiles have a good chance to hit and gain the ability to fight more stuff at the same time.  But I was meeting multiple smaller missile boats that were firing single targets

And btw which fire control is running your anti air? And what kind of targets are you going to fight 1000t FACs or 250t Fighters with a couple of small box launchers?

kilo, there is a slight error in your post. A fire control can track a salvo of missiles, rather than a single one. Now that salvo can be a salvo of 1 but if its more than that then the 1:10 ratio would actually be lower.

I'll reset AMM's fire control for AAM when fighting fighters. For the box launchers, they are for S6 torpedo. Eclipse class equips 2 ASM control, and it will join alpha strike. The "Anti-Air Arty" have a 20s fire rate against small targets.

Just tested it against invader and kicked their ass. However, current invader have no shield, no plasma torpedo, is there any difference between their ship and normal NPR?
