Rules Wiki

New Wiki Site.

http://aurorawiki.pentarch.org

I recommend logging in to do edits and stuff like that. Any emails from the wiki will be coming from my address (same as the board here).

I'd also like to see this forum as a place of "I'll write up screen X"

System Generation and Display
« Reply #2 on: October 05, 2007, 01:27:35 PM »
I've written up a long description of the System Generation and Display page in a MS word document.  What sort of process should we follow from there?

For the moment I'm guessing that we send it to Steve to review, and then if its accepted should it then be loaded (after any needed edits) into the wiki?

I did not attach any screen shots to the writeup yet, we've all got the software right now and they'd just take up space, but eventually they'll need to be included.  Of course they also become something to edit/replace as changes come into the program.

I think you should save it as text and upload it to the wiki.

Then you or someone else (even me) could "wikify it"

Screen shots should be labeled with an Aurora version number, then changed if needed.

I would love to see it as a word document if you want to email to me. I am a total newbie with wiki so I'll let others advise on the nest way to upload the information.

Can you send me your email address?  The email feature on the board here doesn't seem to have an attachment feature and the profile doesn't display them. Mine is LMAY@austin.rr.com

I'm also going to try to figure out the wiki thing.

I added text to the System Information page. I think, lol.  Somebody that knows how to edit Wikis should review it because this is the first time I've ever fooled with one.  The link is here:

Reading it now and it looks great. I am made a couple of very minor changes, adding the information that younger systems have more chance of good mineral deposits (wonder if I ever mentioned that before :)) and changing default race to currently selected species in reference to colony cost.

Thanks for the work you have put into this. Its very much appreciated!

Great!  Is there a particular page you'd like next?  If not I may tackle something big, like the F5 Design screen.

Please go ahead with the design screen. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

It was hosted on another site... That site is gone :( and I didn't get a chance to make any backups. I can restart it here, but it'll be empty.

OK, thanks for letting me know.  You could resurrect it here, but it would depend upon whether enough people are keen to maintain it.

No backups! Argh!

Might as well start it up again. At least now we'll know it's up to date...

It's still there, just not accessible.
