Well, I lost my game in 4 years. I decided to pick a fight when an npr neutral survey ship ventured in. (I had to in order to stay true to my storyline). I declared it hostile and blasted it! I had built 3 frigates armed with amm's and a dual laser turret...for harrassing enemy shipping really. I was concentrating on expansion.
Unfortunately, the npr wasn't. It showed up with 15 warships of various sizes 2 months later and sliced thru me.
Amazing how a programer working part time, with no budget and an outdated code can create an AI system that can present a good challengs to pros and a difficult time for noobs like me. Puts commercial gaming companies to shame.
