Not quite a bug
« on: June 06, 2014, 03:53:46 PM »
Since my normal resolution does not fit the game very well (1360x768) I normally switch resolution before starting aurora each time. Out of sheer laziness I decided to try out a program called Display Changer http://12noon.com/?page_id=80. However when I setup the shortcut I get the following problem.

The resolution changes just fine but Aurora generates an 3024 error that it cannot find the stevefire.db, after clicking it once I get continuous error 91 windows.

Any ideas what could be causing this and if there is a solution?

The stevefire.mdb file is still in your install directory?

Yes still there, if I try to open the game using the normal Aurora.exe then everything works just fine, no db corruption by the looks of things. However each and every time I try to use the shortcut program that alters the resolution it produces these errors.

It has me baffled as all I can see is that the program first alters my screen resolution and then launches aurora all from one shortcut. Here is the shortcut target.

"D:\Programs\12noon Display Changer\dc64.exe" -width=1280 -height=960 "D:\Games\Aurora\Aurora.exe"

I can only guess that for some reason when it launches aurora the game skips a step in reading the db or such. I did try it with the aurora launcher that makes backups and that works just fine along with a random bunch of other programs and it seems to just have problems with aurora.

Try to setup working directory of shortcut to "D:\Games\Aurora\"
