I started a new game just to conduct this experiment. I have no idea how practical the designs are in Aurora, I just tried to make reasonably-accurate renditions of them, based largely on the Ship Control Sheets from Babylon 5 Wars. I used Lasers instead of Particle Beams for the Interceptor turrets since they are meant to be fast-tracking point-defense weapons so I needed them in turrets, even if mounted as singles. Of course I still punted it into the stands by settling on a rather low turret tracking speed so they're almost useless against missiles. Pulse weapons are approximated with particle beams. The sensor packages are largely standardized; most EA ships have roughly the same sensor strengths of either 6 or 8, and I assumed a typical battle allocation of 2 pts of Defensive EW, and 2-3 pts each at 2 different targets (which is also why most ships have 2 Fire Controls and an ECM-2). The numbers of engines are accurate, but the total thrust is a guess. Some ships are relatively slower than they should be (the Tethys, for example). For the weapons, I tried to get their recharge rates accurate @ 1 B5W turn = 5 seconds. From there I bought research up to roughly ~30,000pts/tech level, then fiddled with the damage and ranges.

There was no real way to represent the Aurora's twin Uni-Pulse cannons (basically 2 small particle beams) so I just left it with the gatling cannon from the Thunderbolt. I think two tiny lasers would have made the fighter too big.

Indeed - Babylon 5 is the best!
I know a lot of those ship designs long predate the start of the series so I'm not as familiar with them.
But I think you did a pretty great job putting together ships that are true to design while making them also totally passable combat ships in most cases.
Now all we need to do is build Babylon 5 itself and the load-out for other races and put together a multi-player scenario of high diplomacy and intrigue :)

Certainly seems doable, a 250,000 pop habitat comes in at barely over a million tonnes, you could add maintenance modules for supporting smaller vessels, and optionally make a separate ship with hangers and defense systems conjoined to the main station using a tractor. Call it "yellow sector-restricted access" or something.

Well in that case, ill play the narn, I've always loved their heavy cruisers :p and they are a really cool people, white stars are my favorite ships but that's a little different :p

Certainly seems doable, a 250,000 pop habitat comes in at barely over a million tonnes, you could add maintenance modules for supporting smaller vessels, and optionally make a separate ship with hangers and defense systems conjoined to the main station using a tractor. Call it "yellow sector-restricted access" or something.
I know it's cheating a little, but do you think you could get away with the military part technically being a PDC with an orbital habitat next to it?
Maintenance modules would be important too.
You wouldn't need a tractor beam to keep them together anyway, as it'll all be parked at a planet.

I generally put my massive habitats on very small moons. Jupiter has lots of 2 or 4 km diameter moons that seem ideal. You could shove it onto a comet if youredesperate and don't mind losing bab5 into deep space for 40000 years every so often. I seem to recall you can add more comets into a system using space master.
