Ground Invasion and missile defence help needed

So I went cruising and surveying and found 2 alien races (precursors, I think and Nowhere Dynasty).  I sent my fleet (3 CA and 4 Escorts) to deal with one pesky hostile ship and well I managed to take it down but it got a few shots at me and my missile defence did nothing.  Figured it had something to do with the fact that I didn't detect those missiles until 60k km and so I didin't have time to intercept (AMM launchers did shoot though).  So I redesigned the AS Sensor and FC:

Does that look anything like it should?

Oh and how big are your invasion ships? I mean I build one 15 000ton one but it can only transport 4 battalions and it would take ages to get those pesky Nowhere dudes to surrender (need 400 or so points)

The important thing is the MCR (Minimal Contact Range), which means missiles will be detected 2.6m km away from your ship - which is a bit less than the range of your AMMs, but still a decent range.

The MFCs are quite large however, but it should be fine.

Ahh well that explains a lot, so I could reduce MFC to 3m km or so and it would work all right?

MFC (I assume you mean missile fire control) has the same restrictions as active sensors. If you reduce it to 3 million kilometers range, it will be able to target enemy missiles at 330 000 km. Basically, in case of point defense, you want your fire control and sensors to have more or less the same range.

Ah roger, btw managed to conquer those Nowhere guys.  Built a 60 000t troop transport and ferried 20 GAR over :) Funny thing is that they don't have single friggin installation, I did nuke em from orbit a bit but not that much :(.  So welcome 1. 2 billion useless slaves!

Some NPRs start as pre-TN civilizations and they will not advance further. They will have no TN industry to speak of, but they are easy to conquer, generate wealth, usually have homeworld like mineral deposits (all TN elements in good accessibility but moderate quantity) and, above all else, have different environmental tolerances than your race. This is especially important if they are from low gravity planets, as using them is the easiest way to colonize moons/dwarf planets below your own gravitation tolerance - and those objects are numerous.
