Title: How to identify Wormholes?
Post by: voknaar on March 04, 2011, 12:05:52 AM
I have heard them talked about but i haven't encountered one nor the invaders (thankfully) but I'd still like to know how to find/identify one if one emerges within one of my campaigns. I've (confirmed ) seen starswarm and NPR's in my game despite having all the initial game settings allowing precursor, invaders &  starswarm. But that's probably because I've not gotten far into the galaxy and lack of knowledge to tell the difference effectively.

You'll know. It's pretty obvious. They show up as garish pink circles on the system map.

And you'll also get event messages whenever wormholes open up, close, or move.

Also, the ships popping out of nowhere and blowing yours up are also pretty obvious. :P

What I'll ask here may or may not have anything with the subject in question, but when these wormholes appear? Like in 20 or 40 years in game or more/less?

Any time after you advance time.

Wormholes can appear at any time, in any place. As an example, I once had one open in Sol just a few years after a conventional start. Needless to say, I died, hard.
