PDC Launched Probes

So I designed a geosurvey missile and loaded it into a PDC but whenever I try to launch the missile it tells me that the PDC is suffering the effects of transit and cannot fire.  The only work around I have found is to put a waypoint at the planet and fire it at that using the combat screen but when I advance time and the planet continues along its orbit the probe doesn't follow.  I have no idea what I am doing wrong and searching the forum has not helped me out.  Help?

You need to click on the planet you want to launch it at, then click the the "last" button in the waypoints tab. That should make the probe follow the planet along it's orbit when you fire at the waypoint.
