Title: Empire Economics
Post by: Þórgrímr on July 02, 2008, 07:36:14 PM
This once is from the Empire Economics Sheet. On the orders sheet, this is the only one the player does not use. It is mainly to give him his available balance in resources and wealth.

Title: Empire ID
Post by: Þórgrímr on July 02, 2008, 07:38:25 PM
This one is from the Empire ID Sheet. This one is to keep a record of every unit for tracking purposes.

Title: Empire Map
Post by: Þórgrímr on July 02, 2008, 07:40:50 PM
This one is from the Empire Map Sheet. This is the graphic representation of the sectors in the game. Each game is different and many random maps can be made.

Title: Empire Survey

This one is from the Empire Survey Sheet. This is where you give your survey, exploration, and prospecting orders.

Title: Planetary Region
Post by: Þórgrímr on July 02, 2008, 07:46:06 PM
This one is from the Planetary Region Sheet. This is the sheet that has all the information about the planets, units facilities, and manufacturing on your planets. There is planned to be one sheet for each system.

How automated are those sheets?

They are very automated. Haegan2005 did a damn good job tying most of the sheets together. For example, on the Colony Cost Calculator you just plug in the P-Dat for your homeworld and the P-Dat for the colony site and it lets you know exactly how much extra it is going to cost you to colonize that region.

All the Trade is tied together, all the Unit maintenance is tied together. In fact All the economic data it tied together and all the GM has to do is plug in the numbers and it auto calcs the figures. it even keeps track of the maintenance down to the individual soldier and vehicle.

Like I said, Haegan did a beautiful job on those. Our goal is to automate as much as we can. To take the tedium out and add in the fun.

Right now all the player needs to do is think about what he wants to do and write out the orders to that affect.  :D

Oh, BTW, I never got a notice for your post. So maybe the email stuff is still messed up.

I still get a couple bounces... AT&T seems to have blacklisted the mail server... and I've not been able to get it off. On that last mass email, there were 5 failures, out of 200+ (yours was not in them). Maybe your email is calling me spam? ;)

Lol, I don't see how, I am getting the Rigellian Diary digest Aurora sends  out. So I do not know what's going on.

Never got a notice for your last post either.

Colony Cost Calculator Spreadsheet:  I'd use Ice Ball or Ice Age instead of Ice World since that tends to be used for Neptune like planets.

That's why I have Frozen Co2 for worlds that far from their primary's liquid water zone.

An Ice World's average temperature is between 32 and -60 degrees farenheit.

IIRC, Neptune is a Gas Giant anyway.  :D Just checked, yup, Neptune is a Gas Giant.

We only have maintence for the facilites left to tie in. Maintenance had two checks, one for yearly maintenance and one for monthly. Monthly is used to look for maintenance during war. The idea is to permit the player to build his empire and be able to see what changing things does immediately. The spreadsheet tracks how long it takes to build units and facilites as well. Once the player has built his empire, really all he needs to do is enter orders and see what happens. Detailed instructions are a must. Oh yes, send soldiers with your explorers. Otherwise they may get munched on again. :D
