What's the chance of having Titans work more as ship classes? Ie you research the various chassises and then get to put various weapons on them depending on your weapons tech?

That would be pretty neat, yeah, though will be loads more overhead in terms of programming, for a feature that'll take a lot more time to even access.
I'd still vote yes for it though, hehe.

Exactly what my WH 40k game needs. Ive neglected posting the start because the ground battle was underwhelming.
I second Sematary's idea about customisable titans, but for now what you've got is awesome.
However I think balancing these might be difficult, coming from my experience playing certain browser games.
There's always somebody complaining that goliaths their soldiers, but others complain that goliaths just get slaughtered by mass cruiser spam anyway.

Why have I suddenly gotten the impression its the Japanese that are going to develop and build these first? (in steves latest campaign)

It's possible. I'll see how things work in play test and then look at more customisable options

Another suggestion for Titans, include an Emperor-class. This gives four weight classes, which is also handy for Battletech inspired schemes. (Light/medium/heavy/assault)

If going with 4 levels I would do Light (Scout), Medium (Line), Heavy (Battle), and Assault (Siege) to keep lawyers at bay :P

Yeah, I think it would be really nice if eventually titans could be designed in a similar way as ships are (perhaps with new tech lines and weapon types or adapting old techs to fit with extreme miniaturisation).

Excited to see work on ground units.  That will make my troopships more complicated.
At one point, I wrote up a bunch of suggestions on ground combat, but I can't find them around.  It's possible that post never got finished.  I may have to track it down if Steve is looking at the area.

They won't be able to carry out boarding combat vs ships or PDCs - they are too large.

They will also have to be landed normally, rather than combat dropped.

No, bombardment is a phase in ground combat and directed only against ground combat units. It isn't the same as bombardment from orbit.

In ground combat against PDCs, the assumption is that the ground units are actually entering the PDC to fight the defenders. Titans will be too large for that.
