Jump Gate Deconstruction/Destruction
« on: November 17, 2012, 01:01:30 AM »
Simple question I hope: Is it possible to deconstruct or otherwise destroy/render nonfunctional a jump gate which has been constructed?  Thanks!

Nope!
Your two standard justifications for that are:
1) a jump gate is just a jump point that's been permanently stretched out into a wormhole
Or 2) the structure that stabilizes the jump point gets phased halfway in and out of the jump, and is therefore beyond the reach of this universe

Sabilized wormhole is how I view it, hence the lack of requirement for so called construction ships to actually use any materials.

I tend to think of it as stablised wormhole too. At some point I will change all the names to match that.
